What does it cost?

The costs are per bluechip author at $199.95 plus GST for a 24 month period. There is also an additional $249.95 for the Philips Speechmike to be paid upfront. There is no cost for the secretary.

Can I have a free trial to see if it will work for me?

We do not offer a trial as such but instead offer a cooling off period of 30 days from the date of purchase, so if for any reason you do not wish to continue with the product, you are released from the term without penalty. The only costs you would be subjected to is the hardware purchased as this is not refundable due to hygiene issues as well as the time of the plan you had already utilised.

Do I have to have a plan or licence for each doctor?

Yes you do. The learning happens per doctor and upon finishing each dictation with corrections, the system learns.

Why do I need to sign up for a plan?

We keep the costs of your initial sign up to a bare minimum and recoup the costs over the life of your contract. This means if you chose a plan option you do not have to pay a large upfront cost for the voice recognition solution.

How long before I can start dictating?

Once we receive your order we commence processing your account. We envisage having your service operating and you software installed and linked within 48 business hours.

Can I complete remote dictations?

You can dictate from anywhere there is an internet connection and you have access to a copy of bluechip locally. If you wish to use terminal services you will need Windows server 2008 R2 with the drivers supplied by Speech Solutions.

How long before my secretary can see the words?

A secretary will need to type as they would currently until the words begin appearing. Generally, they will see words within 30 to 60 minutes of dictation. Some authors may take slightly less and others slightly more. Once words appear it is highly likely that the amount of typing required will be minimal.

How does this affect my templates and letters within bluechip?

This product is integrated into bluechip and hence templates and letters are not only attached to the correct patient but also keep their formatting. Your letter handling process within bluechip does not change.

Do I have to use a speechmike Pro?

You do not have to use a Speechmike pro, but we include one as part of your plan. We have found these devices offer supreme quality of voice recordings, meaning much more accuracy and a much quicker learning curve.

How much training is required?

You do not need to complete any training at all. You may need to run a 10 second audio calibration test when you first start using the software or if you change USB ports or dictating environments.

Do I need to have a server?

No. We host the server for you and you connect via your client. We also install a data exporter which places the text back into bluechip. If you do not have a server any workstation which remains on all the time can complete this task.

What if I am only one doctor and don’t have a server?

That is fine. We can run all the services on your PC or your secretary’s PC.

As a doctor can I review my own dictations?

After your dictations have come back correction pending (words on the screen) you can chose to self-edit or have this process completed by a secretary.

I have an accent does this matter?

No at all. This software is used throughout the world with various authors and accents.

Can you cater to my speciality?

Yes. When you sign up for the service you advise your speciality and we ensure that your area of practice is catered for in the voice recognition component.

Will this system really save me money?

Definitely. It will make your secretary up to 50% more efficient and allow them to complete other tasks aside from just typing.

Is this cheaper than outsourced typing?

Yes it is. In discussing this with clients we have found this solutions is significantly cheaper than local and off shore services, with much greater accuracy and security. The turnaround time of letters is markedly faster than the outsourced model.

How long is it before the words come back?

The processing time for dictations is generally 1:2 so for a 1 minute dictation it takes 2 minutes to be processed. Generally after completing an initial 30 to 60 minutes of dictation your secretary will see the recognised words appear.

What about security?

We host a SaaS (software as a service) model which has very high levels military grade security. We secure all parts of the dictation process to ensure that data is secure. Data is transferred back and forth from our server using a 256Bit, which is a military grade encryption. Furthermore the data transferred does not contain any patient or doctor data but simply the patient Identifier.

Can I use my computer at home or offsite to dictate?

Yes you can use any PC computer with internet access. You can use a Mac computer with Fusion running windows.
